Despite outshooting Carolina 37-10 after two periods, the game was tied at one. Pittsburgh then got three early third period goals from Steve Sullivan, Pascal Dupuis and Jordan Staal to put the game away. Final shots on goal were 52-18 in favor of the Pens.
