The Pittsburgh Penguins have released their January Practice Schedule. The Penguins will have seven open practices at Southpointe in January.
Penguins call up Jeffrey and Curry (23-Dec-2010)
The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Dustin Jeffrey and goaltender John Curry from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League.
Penguins beat Panthers 5-2 (22-Dec-2010)
Sidney Crosby's point-scoring streak hits 22 games as the Penguins defeat Florida 5-2 in front of 18,238 at CONSOL Energy Center. Crosby scored in a three-goal first period along with Mark Letestu and Matt Cooke. Ben Lovejoy scored his first NHL goal in the second and Pascal Dupuis capped of the scoring with an empty-netter. Two injury notes: Brent Johnson left the game after two periods with a "lower-body injury" and Lovejoy was struck in the face with a puck and left late in the third.
Penguins crush the Coyotes 6-1 (20-Dec-2010)
The Penguins get a five-point night from Evgeni Malkin on their way to an easy 6-1 win over Phoenix in front of 18,262 at CONSOL Energy Center. Malkin figured in on the game's first five goals as he scored twice and assisted on three others. Kris Letang, Sidney Crosby, Matt Cooke and Chris Conner also scored. Crosby's point-scoring streak is now at 21 games.
Penguins lose 4-1 to Rangers for second straight loss (15-Dec-2010)
The Penguins give up four goals in the third and lose 4-1 to the Rangers in front of 18,242 at CONSOL Energy Center. Pittsburgh dominated the first two periods but only led 1-0 on an Evgeni Malkin goal late in the first period. New York scored twice in 15 seconds in the middle of the third and then added two more against Brent Johnson.
Streak ends at 12 after 3-2 loss to Flyers (14-Dec-2010)
The Penguins' win streak ends at twelve after losing 3-2 to the Flyers in front of 19,824 at Wells Fargo Center. Pittsburgh never led in the game. Evgeni Malkin returned to action after missing four games and scored twice on the power play but also took the penalty which led to the Flyers' game-winner from Scott Hartnell. Sidney Crosby had two assists and his point-scoring streak stands at 19 games.
Penguins to host Winter Classic Alumni Game (10-Dec-2010)
The Penguins will host an alumni Pens vs Caps game Dec. 31 at Heinz Field as part of the 2011 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic weekend. The bad news is that there will only be 10,000 tickets sold for the event which go on sale Friday, December 17th at 10:00 am at http://www.ticketmaster.com/ or by calling 1.800.745.3000. The $25 ticket gets you access to the Alumni Game at 9:30 am and the Pittsburgh Penguins' practice session at 11:30 am on Dec. 31 at Heinz Field.
Penguins defeat Maple Leafs 5-2 (8-Dec-2010)
The Penguins' winning streak is at eleven and Sidney Crosby's point-scoring streaking hits 17 after Pittsburgh defeats Toronto 5-2 in front of 18,158 at CONSOL Energy Center. Pittsburgh built a 4-0 lead through two periods on two goals from Sidney Crosby and goals from Pascal Dupuis and Mark Letestu. Toronto mounted a comeback in the third and cut the lead to 4-2 before Letestu got his second of the game at 17:06 of the third.
Streak hits ten with a 2-1 win over Devils (6-Dec-2010)
The Penguins winning streak is now at ten after a 2-1 win over the Devils in front of 18,185 at CONSOL Energy Center. Sidney Crosby had a goal and an assist to extend his point-scoring streak to sixteen games. Evgeni Malkin was out for the second straight game.

The Penguins crush the Blue Jackets 7-2 in front of 19,143 at Nationwide Arena which was packed with Pens fans. Sidney Crosby extended his point-scoring streak to fifteen games as he scored twice. The team has now won nine straight. Evgeni Malkin missed the game with a minor knee injury.

Sidney Crosby's second hat trick in three games helps the Penguins to their eighth straight win as they defeat Atlanta 3-2 in front of 18,223 at CONSOL Energy Center. Crosby now has a 14 game point streak.
