Penguins split pair of games over the weekend (23-Nov-2013)
The Penguins split their back-to-back games with the Islanders and Canadiens over the weekend. On Friday, Pittsburgh got a late third-period goal from Sidney Crosby to defeat the Islanders 4-3 in front of 18,515 at CONSOL Energy Center. On Saturday, the Pens got two goals from James Neal in the third period but it wasn't enough to overcome a 3-0 deficit and they lost 3-2 in front of 21,273 at Centre Bell.
Penguins blank Capitals 4-0 (20-Nov-2013)
The Penguins out-shoot the Capitals 40-18 and win 4-0 in front of 18,506 at Verizon Center. Pittsburgh got goals from Paul Martin and Beau Bennett in the first period, Sidney Crosby on a beautifully set-up power play goal in the second and James Neal in the third. Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 18 shots for his second shutout of the season and 25th of his career.
Penguins defeat Ducks 3-1 (18-Nov-2013)
The Penguins get a goal and assist from Brian Gibbons in his first NHL game and defeat the Ducks 3-1 in front of 18,614 at CONSOL Energy Center. The game was scoreless after two before the four-goal total third period. Brandon Sutter and Sidney Crosby also scored for Pittsburgh. Marc-Andre Fleury kept the Penguins in the game in the first two periods and ended the game with 27 saves on 28 shots.
Penguins lose 2-1 to Flyers (13-Nov-2013)
The Penguins suffer their third straight defeat with a 2-1 loss to the Flyers in front of 18,656 at CONSOL Energy Center. Sidney Crosby scored the lone Pittsburgh goal on the power play at 8:29 of the second period. Philadelphia goaltender stopped 30 of 31 shots while Brayden Schenn scored twice.
Penguins beaten 5-1 by Rangers (6-Nov-2013)
The Penguins four-game winning streak comes to an end after losing 5-1 to the Rangers in front of 18,006 at Madison Square Garden. Kris Letang scored the lone Pittsburgh goal on the power play at 14:34 of the second period but the Pens were already down 3-1. Henrik Lundqvist turned in a stellar performance for New York stopping 28 of 29 shots. Pascal Dupuis left the game late in the second and did not return.
