July 7 - Pens sign Finnish forward Janne Pesonen to a two-way one-year deal worth $875K.
July 5 - Pens sign forward Matt Cooke to a two-year contract worth $1.2M per year.

Pens re-sign Therrien (18-Jul-2008)
The Penguins have re-signed head coach Michel Therrien to a three-year deal. Therrien is now signed through the 2010-11 season.

Pens announce 2008-09 schedule (17-Jul-2008)
The Penguins' 2008-09 schedule has been released. The Pens open the season with two games in Sweden on Saturday, October 4th and Sunday, October 5th vs Ottawa. The home-opener is Saturday, October 11th vs New Jersey.
