Penguins close out regular season with commanding 8-3 victory over the Hurricanes (27-Apr-2013)
The Penguins close out the 2013 regular season with a dominating 8-3 win over Carolina in front of 18,658 at CONSOL Energy Center. The game was tied at three after two periods and then Pittsburgh exploded for five goals in the third to put down the Canes. James Neal returned to action with a tinted visor and notched his third career hat trick and added an assist. Paul Martin also returned to action after missing 12 games with a broken hand.
Penguins lose 3-2 to the Devils (25-Apr-2013)
The Penguins blow a 2-0 lead and lose their final regular season road game 3-2 to the Devils in front of 16,122 at Prudential Center. Pittsburgh got goals from Matt Cooke and Jussi Jokinen to build a 2-0 lead at 14:01 of the second period. New Jersey responded with a late second period goal and two in the third including the game-winner from Ilya Kovalchuk to grab the win.
Penguins lose 4-2 to the Sabres (23-Apr-2013)
The Sabres stop another Penguins streak as they defeat Pittsburgh 4-2 in front of 18,630 at CONSOL Energy Center. The Pens got goals from Chris Kunitz (22nd of the season) and Jarome Iginla (14). Brooks Orpik left the game after the first and did not return.
Penguins beat Senators 3-1 (22-Apr-2013)
The Penguins beat the Senators 3-1 in front of 20,276 at Scotiabank Place. The Pens got goals from Dustin Jeffrey and Jarome Iginla in the first period with primary assists on both from Brenden Morrow. The teams traded goals in the third with Tyler Kennedy closing out the scoring at 17:26. The win is Pittsburgh's seventh straight.
Tonight's game has been cancelled (19-Apr-2013)
Due to the ongoing manhunt for the Boston Marathon suspect, tonight's game vs the Bruins has been cancelled. The game has been tentatively rescheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, April 20, at TD Garden beginning at 12:30pm. The game's status will be formalized no later than 8:30am.
The game between the Penguins and Buffalo Sabres, scheduled for Saturday night in Pittsburgh, has been moved to Tuesday, April 23 at 7:30 pm.
Penguins beat Canadiens 6-4 (17-Apr-2013)
The Penguins get two goals from Brenden Morrow and Brandon Sutter to beat the Canadiens 6-4 in front of 18,626 at CONSOL Energy Center. Jarome Iginla notched his 1,100th career point with a power play goal late in the first period. Pittsburgh has now won five in a row.
Penguins defeat Panthers 3-1 (13-Apr-2013)
The Penguins, playing without Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin, beat the Panthers 3-1 in front of 18,891 at BB&T Center. Pittsburgh got goals from Kris Letang and Brenden Morrow to lead 2-0 after the first period. Florida's Scott Upshall made it 2-1 at 4:10 of the second. Morrow closed out the scoring with a rare power play empty-netter with 21 seconds to go in the game.
Penguins crush Lightning 6-3. Glass scores! (11-Apr-2013)
The Penguins easily defeat the lowly Lightning 6-3 in front of an announced crowd of 19,204 at Tampa Bay Times Forum. Jussi Jokinen (2g, 1a) and Pascal Dupuis (1g, 2a) both had three-point nights. Kudos to Head Coach Dan Bylsma for putting Tanner Glass out on a 5-on-3 power play which netted Glass's first goal and point of the season.
Penguins clinch division with 5-3 win over the Hurricanes (9-Apr-2013)
The Penguins clinch the Atlantic Division with a 5-3 win over the Hurricanes in front of 17,168 at PNC Arena. Pittsburgh trailed Carolina 3-2 early in the third period but got goals from Beau Bennett and Evgeni Malkin 13 seconds apart at the midpoint of the third. Pascal Dupuis added an empty-netter late and also had two assists in the game. Robert Bortuzzo and Brenden Morrow also scored for the Pens.
Penguins lose to Rangers 6-1 (3-Apr-2013)
The Penguins losing streak hits two after getting trounced 6-1 by the Rangers in front of 17,200 at Madison Square Garden. Pascal Dupuis scored the lone Pittsburgh goal at the 2:27 mark of the second period. Marc-Andre Fleury gave up 6 goals on 39 shots.

3-24-13: Penguins acquire F Brenden Morrow and a 2013 3rd round draft pick from the Dallas Stars in exchange for Joe Morrow and a 2013 5th round draft pick.
3-25-13: Penguins acquire D Douglas Murray from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for a 2013 2nd round draft pick and a 2014 conditional 2nd round draft pick.
