The Penguins mount a three-goal comeback in the third to eventual defeat Toronto 5-4 in a shootout in front of 18,550 at CONSOL Energy Center. Pittsburgh found themselves down 4-1 with just under twelve and a half minutes to go in the third. The Pens responded with three goals including Evgeni Malkin's game-tying arm deflection with 6.6 seconds to go. Malkin then scored the only shootout goal for the win. Marc-Andre Fleury was easily the game's number one star as he turned in a sterling 35 save performance.

The Penguins beat the Blues 3-2 in a shootout in front of 18,471 at Scottrade Center. Pittsburgh built a 2-0 lead in the second on goals from James Neal and Steve Sullivan. St. Louis then got two from Patrik Berglund including a shorthanded penalty shot at 5:04 of the third. After a scoreless overtime, Chris Kunitz, playing in his 500th career game, won the shootout in the fourth round.

The Penguins defeat the Rangers 4-1 in front of 18,200 at Madison Square Garden for their fourth straight win. The game was tied at one after two periods of play with Chris Kunitz getting the game's opening goal at 3:16 of the first. Pittsburgh scored three times in the third, including two from Evgeni Malkin, to put the game away.
