Penguins score with 10 seconds to go to tie Montreal 3-3 (22-Oct-2002)
The Penguins get two power play goals in the third period to tie the Canadiens 3-3. Alexei Kovalev scored twice for Pittsburgh and Aleksey Morozov got the game-tying goal on the power play at 19:50 of the third with Johan Hedberg pulled.
Lines: Morozov-Lemieux-Kovalev, Vujtek-Hrdina-Daigle, LaCouture-Primeau-Nieminen and McKenna-Manderville-Donovan.

Alexei Kovalev opened the scoring at 12:49 of the first period. After Kovalev hustled to nullify an icing call in the right corner, he skated behind the net, came out front and backhanded a high shot which got by Montreal goaltender, Jose Theodore.
Montreal tied the game at one when Joe Juneau scored at 14:26. Juneau took a pass from Jan Bulis and snapped it one-time by Johan Hedberg from below the left circle.

Jan Bulis gave Montreal a 2-1 lead with just over two minutes to go in the opening period. After the Penguins had failed to clear the zone, Bulis picked up a Joe Juneau rebound out front and banged it home.

Shots after one period were 9-8 in favor of Montreal.
There was no scoring in the second period. Montreal had the best opportunity when they were given a four minute power play after Michal Rozsival hit Richard Zednik above the eye which opened up a cut.
Shots after two were 18-17 in favor of Pittsburgh.
The Canadiens seemed to have iced the game when Andrei Markov made it a two goal lead at 5:34. Off a nice give-and-go passing play, Saku Koivu fed Markov who one-timed it by Hedberg from out front.

Alexei Kovalev began the comeback with his second of the game at 11:19 on the power play. Mario Lemieux dropped the puck to Kovalev at the left point. Kovalev skated towards the goal and beat a screened Theodore with a wrist shot shortside high.
The Penguins were given a power play with 1:30 to go in the game and then pulled Johan Hedberg with 30 seconds to play.
Aleksey Morozov got the game-tying goal with 9.8 seconds to go. After putting heavy pressure on the Canadiens' goal, Lemieux who was in the left corner passed through the crease to Morozov who tapped it in.

Despite Montreal being given a power play in overtime the game ended as a 3-3 tie.
