Pens beat Thrashers 7-5 for first win of the season! (27-Oct-2005)
The Penguins rebound from a 4-0 deficit at the midpoint of the first period to beat Atlanta 7-5 in front of 14,009 at Mellon Arena. After going down by four, the Pens scored the next seven goals in the game. Mario Lemieux, Sergei Gonchar and John LeClair each scored two power play goals and were the game's number one, two and three stars. Ric Jackman netted the lone non-power play Penguins goal.
Lemieux added three assists for a five point night.
Dick Tarnstrom was injured in the first period. The Post-Gazette is reporting he injured the medial collateral ligament in his left knee and may be out 6-8 weeks.
Pittsburgh went 6 for 11 on the power play.
