Pens lose 6-3 to Devils, Crosby held pointless (20-Oct-2005)
The quest for the first win of the season continues as the Devils beat the Penguins 6-3 in front of an announced crowd of 16,082 at Mellon Arena. New Jersey led 2-0 after one period on goals from Jay Pandolfo and Scott Gomez. Pittsburgh tied the game at two with two goals in 29 seconds near the middle of the second from Dick Tarnstrom and Mario Lemieux. The Devils struck right back though with a power play goal 31 seconds later from Vladimir Malakhov and never looked back. Ric Jackman scored the Pens' third goal and final goal of the game on the power play at 8:43 of the third period.
Sidney Crosby's six game point-scoring streak came to an end.
