Senators defeat Penguins 6-5 (23-Jan-2004)
The Pens' third period rally falls short and they lose 6-5 to the Senators in Ottawa. Pittsburgh trailed by three goals heading into the third period but scored twice and saw Tom Kostopoulos hit the post with under two seconds to go. Marc-Andre Fleury gave up all six goals on 23 shots in two periods of play before pulled and replaced by Jean-Sebastien Aubin. Milan Kraft (8:49 - 1st period), Drake Berehowsky (pp 14:07 - 1st per.), Tom Kostopoulos (pp 9:47 - 2nd per.), Brian Holzinger (sh 2:28 -3rd per.) and Dick Tarnstrom (pp 17:38 - 3rd per.) scored for the Penguins. The Pens have now lost five games in a row. Kudos to TV color analyst Bob Errey who showed viewers the play the Pens would attempt off a faceoff with five seconds to go in the game.
